Usually you will find this blog addressing practical suggestions for how to help clergy stay sane and healthy as they respond to God’s call in a stress filled society and a demanding calling. However this blog will explore my efforts to make use of fiction as a means of both lifting up the work of clergy and addressing the spiritual edge to a significant issue in our society.
I’ve been an ordained pastor for almost 50 years and during that time I’ve often tried to address from a faith perspective how Christians can respond to our society’s attraction to violence as a solution to our problems. Now I’ve written a new novel, Blessed Are the Peacemakers, that has a pastor as its main hero and faith’s confrontation with violence as it’s main theme.
