Eve’s Story (Part 3)

I’m not trying to blame God for my behavior but there is a strong sense of independence in me. I’m not content to sit around and eat bananas and sip coconut milk all day. I once found Adam sitting under a tree watching a bunch of bears who had developed some type of game where they kept throwing a coconut around to see which group of bears could move the coconut across a field and pitch it into a basket. The game would go on for hours, back and forth, and glaze eyed Adam, half stewed on something he called improved grape juice, would just sit there yelling first at one side and then at the other.
OK, so I’m the Prodigal daughter. Later Jesus will make a parable about this rebellious behavior. When he does, maybe you will recall that though we rebel, when we are welcomed back it’s time for a party because only rebels really know how to party. Of course, when Jesus told the story, the main roles were played by males. I understand that. By his time, it was the males who were causing most of the problems anyway. We both had the knowledge of good and evil, but on balance I think the males made more bad choices than the females did. Of course that is just my opinion.
In the male written history that you have it is clearly recorded that it was I, a woman, who made the first decision to rebel, but you will notice that males did a pretty good job of messing up the decisions from that point on. I don’t think it’s having the knowledge of good and evil that’s the problem. It is which choice you make that makes the difference. It was my male sons who introduced the world to violence. You didn’t hear about any of my daughters making such bad decisions, did you?
What’s that, you didn’t know I had any daughters? Well of course not, who do you think wrote that history anyway.
