Psalm 13
A prayer during the pandemic
1 How long, O LORD?
Will you forget us forever?
How long will you hide your face from us?
2 How long must we bear fear of this virus in our soul,
and have anxiety in our hearts all day long?
How long shall this pandemic be exalted over us?
3 Consider and answer us, O LORD, our God!
Give light to our eyes,
before we sleep the sleep of death,
4 and this virus will say, “I have prevailed.”
The pandemic will rejoice because we are shaken.
5 But we trust in your steadfast love;
our heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6 we will sing to the LORD
7. Because you have dealt bountifully with us.
Let the Psalms teach us to pray.
