BE A HEALTHY CHURCH
This past October I led the annual conference for the Presbytery Pastoral Care Network. You can see more about it and the resources we have to support clergy health at www.pastoralcarenetwork.org . For 15 years this organization has been holding conferences, consulting, developing resources, and publishing a newsletter about five times a year showing people who care about the church how to have a healthy ministry.
In preparation for leading that conference, I published four books designed to provide practical ideas on nurturing health within a church.
One, An Interim Pastor’s Gift, builds on the idea that the best person to educate a congregation about healthy clergy is the interim pastor. S/he is not doing it for self but only for the future pastor and the church who issues the call.
The second one, A Company of Pastors, offers a fresh approach for clergy support groups. The theme of the conference was Overcoming Loneliness in the Pastorate and this book shows a fresh approach to do that.
The third one introduces the way in which one can add laughter to your ministry and a design for how to keep a comedy journal as a way of combating the toxic effect of loneliness.
And finally, as part of my campaign to “build respect for pastors one story at a time” I combined the three kindle versions of Clergy Tales–tails into one printed version.
All of these and much more are available on my Amazon site

I guess that makes this an advertisement but I hope it also expresses my commitment to build healthier churches by nurturing healthier clergy.
