MY JOURNEY AS A RECOVERING RACIST

JOIN ME IN A JOURNEY

Let me share with you what I posted on Facebook last night.

I’m part of a seminar on building up support for some resources I’m developing on how White congregations can discuss racism and avoid either denial or paralyzing guilt. I’m supposed to publish something every day for 14 days. So I’m going to draw on 50 years of wrestling with this issue and share about my journey. It begins with my belief that our faith enables us to recognize our guilt in this or any area and learn from it as we discover a better future. So my friends, whether you are White or Black, I invite you to follow my journey

So each day for fourteen days I will add more to my story. And, sometime during that time, I may post twice so my blog will also have 14 posts. During that time, I encourage you also to reflect on your personal journey with racism in your life. When and how did you become aware of the issue of race in your life? How has that changed over the years? And maybe most importantly, where would you like to be?

CONSIDER TAKING THIS JOURNEY WITH ME.
