I’M SHARING THIS FIVE PART SHORT STORY WHILE I’M AWAY VISITING JORDAN AND ISRAEL

PART TWO

Jane and Dick sat in stunned silence as Brando and Monroe proceeded to strip each other naked and engage in uninhibited sex on the Jones’s bed.

As Marilyn began to moan and screech in ecstasy, Jane, who has been watching intently said, “Aiee! We’ve never done it that way before.”

Dick, equally fascinated, responded, “How can a body bend that way?”

“I can assure you that mine wouldn’t bend that way in my present condition but later, who knows?” said Jane.

Not taking his eyes off of what was taking place in front of him, Dick said, “Your condition? O yeah, how are you doing?”

She giggled. “I guess we did find a way to distract ourselves. The only problem is, we can’t put this on T-Vo for instant replay if we have to make a quick trip to the hospital.”

Even though they were completely fixated on what was happening on the bed in front of them, both Dick and Jane were suddenly aware of a strange bluish-green light that was penetrating their bedroom window.  They also noticed a strange ozone smell.

Brando, smelling the ozone, said, “Hey, who’s passing gas in here?” He turned and saw the light. “What’s that?”

“Move, bozo, so I can see too.”

Marlon rolled off Marilyn, and all four of them went to the window.

On a grassy knoll just above the window, they saw a flying saucer about 20 feet in diameter slowly descending in the cow field.  They watched, fascinated, as it descended and rested on eight legs of blue-green light that had attached themselves to the earth.  Even though a naked Marilyn Monroe was hanging over Dick’s shoulder, all his attention was directed toward the flying saucer.

“I used to hear about these as a child,” Brando said as he breathed into Jane’s ear.  “I think the next thing that’s ‘sposed to happen is for some little green men to pop out.”

No sooner had he said this and stepped back in response to Jane’s sharp elbow being planted in his ribs, then a door in the saucer began to open.  The saucer was resting on its lights about 15 feet off the ground.  As the door opened, little green figures, sex yet to be determined, began to emerge.  Like children on a slide, they jumped on one of the pillars of light and seemed to make a gleeful though unearthly sound as they slid to the ground.

Each figure had six arms or legs extending from its body.  After they all were on the ground, continuing to make a gleeful sound, they turned cartwheels in a circle on their six limbs, giving each other something like a high five with their feet as their bodies spun like a wheel.

Their heads began to rotate. They spotted the ranch-style house in which Dick and Jane lived.  They began to move in the direction of the house.  When they came near the house, they formed a semicircle near the front door.  The one in the middle advanced, bowed to the ground, and then sang out in a lilting voice while the others danced in rhythm.

“’Tis a gift to be simple, ‘tis gift to be free, ‘tis a                          gift to come down where we ought to be.”

On the last note, as if some unseen hand had turned the handle, the door to the house slowly opened, and the little green figures, sex yet to be determined, entered the house and greeted Dick, Jane, Marlon, and Marilyn as if they were long-lost friends.
