Before you get too righteous about how fundamentalist respond, consider some of the words liberals can’t use without having a sneer in their voice.
Truth: Oh yeah, who says so?
Certainty: Sounds rather arrogant to me. You are definitely rather narrow minded.
Fundamentalist: Whatever your standards and beliefs are, they must be narrow minded and bigoted.
Biblicists: I take the Bible seriously but I don’t beat people over the head with it.
Literalist: I know that is what the Bible says, but I know that that isn’t what it meant.
Pietist: You are so wrapped up in your religious ways that you aren’t aware of the real world out there.
One Way: What makes you so certain that the truth you have concocted from your literal reading of the Bible according to the fundamentalistic guidlines that others have shackled you with is the truth?
Maybe if the fundamentalist took the Liberals seriously and the liberals took the fundamentalist seriously, they could all have a good laugh at how pretentious they are and maybe, just maybe, they could learn from each other.
