GOD REFLECTED IN CREATION
As you begin this time, either stand near a window that looks out on some image of nature or make use of a church garden for your time of reflection. If the day is nice, you might take a walk so that you can observe different aspects of nature. Pay attention to different details of various elements of nature around you. Psalm 19:1, “The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.”
PSALM 19: 1-6
Read Psalm 19, especially the first 6 verses a couple of times before you begin your walk. Note how the psalmist says in verse 3 – 4, “There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard; yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. Allow different aspects of nature to speak to you about your ministry. Think about how the created world tells the story of the glory of God
GRACE IN YOUR MINISTRY
Allow God to speak to you about your call through reflections stimulated by the created world. After reflecting on the perfection of God’s law, the psalmist says: “But who can detect their errors? Clear me from hidden faults . . . Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.” Psalm 19:12-13. What does nature say to you about the grace of God in your ministry? Reflect on what it means that God is not keeping score of your errors but working through you to convey grace to others?
