WE’VE A STORY TO TELL

By May 5, 2021One Comment

WE HAVE A STORY

We live in a society of increasing anxiety

Where people have lost hope and expectation.

I worry that the church has forgotten

We’ve a story to tell to the nations.

***

Isolation and separation  have caused despair

People dwell in gloom and endless dark.

We need to hear a song of noonday bright

Caused by faith in a God that offers a glowing spark

***

The church needs to reclaim a message for all our nations

A world that for too long played the game of power and might

Needs to hear the song we’ve been given

That shatters the sword of evil and reveals the light.

***

Fragile hope was born in a forgettable town

Celebrated by those who cared for sheep at night

That song can start in one small church’s voice

But grows to an anthem that shatters all fear and fright.

***

Whether from one church or many across the world

We’ve been given a story of hope and healing

We’ve a story to tell to the nations

It waits for the faithful to sing a story of revealing.
